In our classes we learn and have fun! We do projects, games, and multiple activities to improve our Spanish and get the different cultural perspectives from the 21 Spanish Speaking countries.
Spanish Course Outline Fall 2016
Dear Parents/Guardians; I am Mrs. Elda Alvarez and I will be your son’s/daughter’s Spanish teacher. It is my pleasure to welcome your son/daughter to the Spanish program at Chapin H.S.Following is a course outline of the objectives, text books, required materials for class, grading procedures, expectations, class management, and consequences.If you should have any questions and/or concerns please do not hesitate to contact me at (915) 236-4400 ext. 14521 to arrange a conference. Objective: Students will improve the skills in listening, comprehension, speaking, reading, and writing Spanish.Studies are conducted through a variety of cultural and interactive activities that encourage students to use Spanish spontaneously in a wide range of contexts.
Textbook: Spanish 2 SS and Spanish 2 SL: Realidades 2 Manual de Gramática y Ortografía para Hispanos Sendas 1 & 2 Triángulo Aprobado
Materials Required: One composition book (college ruled) 2 different color pens (pencils will not be accepted) 1 package of notebook paper (college ruled)
Students’ expectations: Students are expected to come to class with required text and supplies; ready to learn and participate every day.Class participation is an important factor of this class.Students also are expected to have all assignments completed and turned in on time.All assignments must be completed with pen (assignments completed with pencil will not be accepted).It is student’s responsibility to get and turn in all missed work if class was missed. Technology will be allowed for instructional purposes and only when the teacher authorizes.
Classroom Rules: 1.Be on time andprepared to work 2.Bring your own materials 3.Follow directions the first time that are given 4.NO electronic devices 5.NO gum, food, or drinks
Consequences: 1.Verbal warning 2.Will be moved to a different desk 3.Private conference with student 4.Telephone call to parents or conference with parents 5.Referral and a “U” in behavior
